The Custom Boot Process

The Backlog

Historically the backlog has been between 1 and 5 years, currently it is about 2 years. Start the process by reserving your spot on-line or in person.

The Notification

When your name reaches the top, we’ll notify you by mail so you can book your fitting appointment. If you cannot visit the shop within 30 days, you may secure your spot for one year with an additional deposit.

The Pilgrimage & Measurement

To guarantee the fit, final measurements are taken in person at Peter Limmer & Sons in Intervale, NH or at a Regional Measurement Event. During your visit, we’ll take detailed measurements, foot tracings and notes, discuss options, and share the shop and build process. If you cannot visit, we can build boots from customer-supplied measurements, though we cannot guarantee the fit. Once we have your final measurements, your boots enter the build queue and are typically completed in about three months.

The Investment & Value

Custom boots are a significant investment,
and we take that commitment seriously. With custom-fit boots, you’re investing in your feet, your comfort, and your enjoyment of the outdoors. It may sound cliché, but we believe in building more than just boots; we build lasting relationships. We take the time to understand each customer and their unique needs before crafting boots that are
tailor-made for their feet. Every pair is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, from selecting the finest leather hides to creating custom-made lasts. The final result is a pair of boots as unique as the individual wearing them. These are 'boots for the ages' in design, in fit and in longevity. Long after other boots have been retired, you will reach for your Limmers.

Limmer Stock Boot Fitting

We offer personal fittings of all available Limmer products and take time with each customer to do our best to make sure they leave here with the best possible fit. When coming in for a stock boot fitting, there are a few things we need you to keep in mind. First, it’s very important that we see you with an unstressed foot, so if you are coming to our area to hike,it’s imperative that you come see us first, bring heavy hiking socks and plan on an hour or so of time.

Limmer Consignment Boots

For Decades, the Limmer "Consignment Wall" has offered gently used, rebuilt and even new boots in a variety of styles, shapes and sizes. Consignment boots are only available for in person sales.
